The City of Rawlins Police Department serves the community by protecting citizens and property, preventing crime, enforcing laws, and maintaining order. The Department's primary goal is to contribute to the quality of life in Rawlins. 

Department Staff

The Rawlins Police Department (RPD) is comprised of 20 sworn officers, seven dispatchers, a records division, victim advocates, two animal control officers, and one administrative secretary. The RPD has a statewide reputation for excellence and provides innovative and equitable police service to our community through a motivated and engaged workforce.

Mission

The Rawlins Police Department’s mission is to maintain peace and order by:
  • Providing high quality police services that are responsive to the needs of the community
  • Reducing the opportunity for the commission of crimes by implementing effective crime prevention strategies
  • Meeting the present and future needs of the citizens of Rawlins through a continued partnership with our community
