We allow up to six cremains to be placed on top of full burials at the discretion of the sexton. Up to six cremains will be allowed in one standard burial plot under normal circumstances.
 
Perpetual care fee will be collected simultaneously with the sale of the burial space.
 

Hours and Accessibility:

 
The cemetery is open daily from 6:00 AM to 12:00 Midnight. The cemetery office (located immediately south of the cemetery in the Public Works Complex) is open 8-12 and 1-5 weekdays.
 

Cemetery Lot Regulations:

 
The City of Rawlins Cemetery Division, under the direction of the Cemetery Sexton, has responsibility for the care and maintenance of the 40 developed acres. This responsibility derives from City Ordinance 8.04.010 through 8.04.120 of the Rawlins Municipal Code.
 

General Care of the Cemetery:

 
All interments, grading, landscaping, planting and trimming will be done by cemetery personnel. Any improvements or alterations to any lot shall be done by cemetery personnel. The City of Rawlins retains the right to remove or alter any lot improvements if they become unsightly or pose a safety hazard. The alteration or removal shall be at the expense of the lot owner.
 

Plants and Trees:

 
No plants, trees, shrubs, or live flowers shall be planted upon any lot in the cemetery without prior approval of the sexton.
 

Lot Decoration-Flowers and Flags:

 
Freshly cut and artificial flowers, sprays, wreaths and flags may only be attached to monuments or placed in vases or containers within the monument or their base and must be removed within 15 days. Cemetery personnel will remove freshly cut and artificial flowers t hat have died, faded, broken or become unsightly.
 

Decorative Rods:

 
Decorative rods, shepherds hooks or iron stands, commercially purchased or privately built, will be allowed only if the rod is permanently attached within the monument foundation. Anything hung from a rod must be secured to prevent it from blowing off. The rod and any items secured to the rod must not obstruct any maintenance procedure.
 

Flower Containers:

 
Flower containers shall be made of metal, marble, granite (such as are a permanent part of a monument) or plastic. Specifically forbidden, whether temporary or permanent, is any container made of glass, porcelain, or pottery.
 

Decorative Material:

 
The use of tiles, lawn ornaments, brick, gravel, crushed rock, wood bark, or similar materials on any lot is strictly prohibited
 

Monuments and Marker Materials:

 
All monuments and markers, except for small temporary markers provided at the time of interment, shall be made of a permanent material such as bronze, granite, or marble or metal or a quality approved by the sexton or assistant.
 

Monument Installation:

 
All monuments and markers shall be installed under the direct supervision of the cemetery sexton or grounds superintendent to insure proper placement and conformity to cemetery regulations and standards. Monuments installed without the permission of the sexton will be removed if the placement does not conform to cemetery regulations. Monuments may be installed by a professional stone setter that has been approved by the City Sexton.
 

Monument Borders and Foundations:

 
All monuments and markers shall be installed with a concrete border or foundation at grade level and not extending beyond the lot line. It shall have a minimum thickness of 3 inches thick and shall provide a minimum border of 4 inches on all sides of the monument. Vases and statues shall be installed with the base and foundation or shall be installed as part of the monument.
 

Curbs and Borders:

 
No coping, curbing, hedging, borders, fencing or enclosure of any kind shall be installed on any lot. Lot corners may be designated by stone or bronze corner markers installed in concrete at grade and installed entirely within the lot boundary.
 

Clean Up:

 
The City of Rawlins has two cemetery clean-ups during the year. It may be more often if deemed necessary. All loose or unsightly decorations will be discarded by cemetery personnel.
