2007 Carbon County School Dist. #1 Field Days...

Fire Prevention & Public Education...

The Rawlins Fire Department is very active in the City with education on Fire Safety. A considerable amount of time is spent throughout the year with children of all ages in fire prevention, home safety and escape in a fire situation. Adult and senior citizens of the community are contacted on a regular basis through Senior Center Safety Talks , fire drills and civic group meetings of many different organizations in the City. Several programs sponsored by the Fire Department have provided residents with smoke detectors, home fire safety inspections, chimney cleaning tools and various other aid with fire related problems.

Traveling Fire Safety House...

The Rawlins Fire Department has recently acquired the State of Wyoming Fire Safety House and is incorporating it into our Public Education program. It is an excellent tool for fire safety instruction and public awareness of fire safety issues. It is available for use all over Carbon County and is sponsored by the Rawlins Fire Department and its staff. Fire Prevention Week...

The Rawlins Fire Department participates annually in the National Fire Prevention Week activities. Every year the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) rolls out a national theme for fire prevention along with supporting materials and training aids. The Rawlins Fire Department adapts these materials into our public education activities and delivers presentations to local day cares, preschools and elementary schools. The Department also provides safety training for kids utilizing our Fire Safety House and hosts station tours at Fire Station I.
